Giants legend ripped by fans for what he did during national anthem

Michael Strahan is facing backlash online over the way he stood during the national anthem on Sunday for the “NFL on Fox” special veterans day broadcast from the San Diego Naval Base.
When camera’s panned to the Fox crew, each analyst had their hand over their heart, besides Strahan who stood with his hands clasped in front of him.
The clip was brief, but NFL fans still appeared to take issue with the fact that this happened the day before Veterans Day on Monday.
“Strahan couldn’t put his hand over his heart?” one user wrote on X.” HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO EVERYONE EXCEPT MICHAEL STRAHAN!! NO CLASS!!”
“Michael Strahan, standing with US military honoring Veterans Day can’t show honor and respect during the National Anthem… Wow!” added another fan.
“What’s wrong with Strahan,” another fan wrote. ”@NFLonFOX ? Blatant disrespect for the men and women he is surrounded by protecting his rights and freedoms.”
The former Giants legend and Hall of Fame pass rusher grew up in the military with his father serving in the US Army for 23 years. He was defended by some fans on X.
“Strahan is the son of a Retired MAJ! I’m sure he has more respect for this country than you ever will!” one user wrote.
Strahan, 52, was selected by the Giants in the second round of the 1993 draft and spent his entire 15-year career in New York.
